Learning Communities
Mascalls School is divided into five 'Learning Communities'. These are: Hockney, Hepworth, Westwood, Riley and Foster. Each child is put into a learning community when they arrive at the school.
Each learning community has a 'Pastoral Manager' who deals with the welfare of the students in his or her community. There is also a PA for each community who deals with day to day administration and issues such as student attendance.
Each community is sub-divided into 'Advisories' which are similar to form groups except they use a vertical structure. This means that each advisory contains students from every year in the school including the sixth form. Advisories meet three times a week. They give an opportunity for students to discuss problems and issues that are important to them.
If you wish to contact the school it is advisable to first contact the appropriate learning community. Click below on the appropriate Learning Community to find contact information.
